Thank you for your interest Blues City Kayaks’ “Urban Wolf River SUP Yoga Experience!” Please read the information below thoroughly. It will help ensure things run as smoothly as possible. We are looking forward to introducing you to standup paddleboard yoga along the first urban section of the Wolf River!
SUP Yoga will not be performed on moving water. Due to the nature of the river the areas of flat water that were available yesterday may not be available today. If that is the case the yoga portion of the tour will be done on one of the Wolf River's beautiful sand beaches.
Your guides will be ANDe Demetriou and Sarah Barker. They will do everything possible to make sure you thoroughly enjoy the trip. Feel free to call/text Blues City Kayaks at (901) 762-1133 or e-mail info@bluescitykayaks.com with any questions you may have.
WAIVER
Below is a link to the waiver form for the trip. Please print it out, read it, initial and sign, and bring it with you. If you have a guest besides yourself, a copy will need to be filled out by them as well. If your guest is a minor, please fill this out on their behalf and a parent or legal guardian must sign and attend.
LIFEJACKETS ARE REQUIRED
Every Blues City Kayaks participant is required to wear a US Coast Guard approved lifecjacket while paddling or in moving water. The only exception is in flat, non-moving water while performing yoga, and then only at the discretion of the river guides. If you do not have a lifejacket, one will be included with your watercraft rental.
BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME
Use the bathroom
(There are no bathroom facilities at any of the Wolf River boat launch sites or along the tour)
Pre-pack/Select clothes you will wear
(See "What to wear" and "What to pack" sections below.)
Prior to launching
We will conduct safety instructions for the paddle. Launch time will be about 30-45 minutes after the start time.
What to wear
Dry-wick/neoprene layers are recommended.
Set of dry clothing in the event your clothes get wet
Hat that provides shade over face, ears, and neck
CLOSED to shoes (Water shoes or an old pair of tennis shoes. Please no sandals or flip flops)
What to bring
Water
Snacks
Small cooler
Sunscreen & bug spray
Other personal items you may need
Waterproof dry bag (See "Electronic equipment" section below)
For a comfortable trip back home, you may want to bring a second set of clothing to keep in your vehicle to change into after the trip.
Electronic equipment
Water sensitive electronic devices need to be securely stored in a waterproof dry bag when not in use. The Wolf River has claimed many of these devices. “Zip-lock” plastic bags are not waterproof and will not offer protection from the river. Your guide will have dry bags for such items so be sure let your guides know if you need something stored. Items to consider are cellphones, electronic keys, wallets, cameras, and anything else that could be damaged if immersed in water.
DISCLAIMER
The river access and take-out points are relatively safe environments and you should be able to leave your vehicle in the put-in and take-out parking areas. The security of your vehicle, personal items you leave in the vehicle or bring along on the river are your responsibility to maintain. Blues City Kayaks is not liable for losses or damage to private property, whether such losses or thefts occurs in the parking areas/lots or on the river.
