This course teaches how to utilize proper paddling techniques on moving water and how to combine those techniques in special situations. We also teach river rescue techniques and kayak re-entry on moving water.

Paddlesports Safety Facilitators (PSF) can effectively maneuver their craft and demonstrate competent rescue techniques. This certification allows the facilitator to introduce paddlecraft safety and knowledge to the beginner paddler in a land-based setting.

The Introduction to Day Hiking class that is perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics of hiking. The class is designed to teach you the fundamental skills and knowledge required to hike safely and confidently. You will learn about the different types of hiking trails, the gear you need, and how to prepare/pack for a hike. The class will also cover topics such as navigation, safety, and environmental awareness. You will be taught by experienced instructors who are passionate about hiking and the outdoors.
Blues City Kayaks' Wilderness First Aid (WFA) class through the Emergency Care and Safety Institute is a two-day (16 hour) course that teaches participants the skills and knowledge they need to provide first aid in remote settings where medical help may be hours or days away. The course covers a wide range of topics and is taught by ECSI certified instructors who can provide hands-on training and realistic scenarios. Participants will learn how to use improvised materials to provide first aid in the wilderness, and they will develop the skills and confidence they need to help others in an emergency.
